Custom Orders

Wow. I cannot believe it is September! But, it is a good thing because my kids start back to preschool next week and I need the time to get some sewing done! This month has been VERY busy for sewing and I am so excited. I love creating new and creative items as well. This adorable outfit is a baby gift. It is a custom order for a family who loves golf :) If you have an idea and it isn't in the shop...ask me! I might be able to accomodate!

Happy Fall Y'All!

My FAVORITE time of the year for sewing is the fall.  I absolutely love the rich colors of autumn.  Chocolate brown, pumpkin orange, greens, yellows and Halloween.  I love halloween prints.  Not sure what it is.  Maybe it is the nostalgic feelings that are arise when I see them.  Halloween was always my favorite holiday growing up.  My mom always sewed up some fantastic creation and let me wear a lot of makeup :)  So, without further chit-chat...here are some fall items in the shop right now!

The first is a vintage inspired Alexander Henry fabric.  I love it.  But, unfortunately I don't have much of it.  It is paired with a black/orange and cream argyle print.

And, this next one is a halloween costume.  The Juliet Gnome Dress inspired by "Gnomeo & Juliet".  I actually had a sweet customer request this as a custom item and it turned out so darn cute that I added it to the shop and I am happy that you are all liking it as well!

And I have relisted a fall favorite from last year.  I bought extra fabric at the end of last fall because I love this fabric SO much.  It is fabulous for fall family photos and pumpkin patch photos!!

Hello Roses Reverse Knot Dress

This post is coming a little late...becasue these were my girls Easter dresses.  But we have had a few things going on!  So, I finally got this gorgeous dress up in the shop and it is so sweet I know my girls will wear it year round.  It features a large bow in the back and gorgeous feminine LARGE roses all over the full skirt.  I am in love with this dress.  So much so that I may need to make a coordinating something out of this fabric for me :)
And these fantastic photos were taken by the lovely Kelsey Lantz in Nashville.  If you are local to Nashville and you have kids...do yoursself a favor and her photograph them!

"Little Firecracker" Peasant Top

"Little Firecracker" Peasant Top and denim ruffle capris
Well, it is officially summer in most of the country...we have arrived in Colorado Springs and I am learning that summer is not always 95 degrees and humid everywhere :) We are settling into our new home and I have unpacked all of the sewing gear (*sigh of relief*) and begun creating things for my house and satisfying my need to sew by making shower curtains, drapes, etc. But, I am getting ready to open up the etsy shop again. Here is one of my newest creations that has the 4th of July in mind but is simply adorable enough to wear all summer long if not all year long!  It is made with Anna Maria Horner's "Innocent Crush" line paired with a blue/white dot.  Enjoy!

Back by popular demand...

And only for a VERY short time due to the dwindling bolt of fabric.  The vintage Olivia dress! The last bolt of this fabric I had was red, but I found a bolt of the black colorway in Colorado while we were house hunting and I LOVE it.  It really makes the red pop and I paired it with a red and cream stripe.  This dress is truly adorable.  I have already sold more than half of the bolt in just a few weeks!  So, hurry...short of traveling the country again this fabric is GONE.

Moving!

I am not sure exactly when the decision was made or how it all came about because it has happened SO QUICKLY!  But...our family is moving to Colorado Springs from Nashville!  When, you ask?  IN 3 WEEKS.  This is an ALL CAP worthy note.  I am feeling the pressure of packing and finding a home and wrapping up sewing projects.  So, I have cleared many things out of the Etsy store and I am keeping things to a minimum.  But, only for a short time!  I am hoping (and I know myself and that sewing IS my sanity) that by beginning to mid-May I will have a sewing spot set up and ready to go.  PLEASE come back and visit the shop and see some pics of our adventures across country to Colorado here on the blog.

Olivia is EXTRAORDINARY!

OK...we love Olivia at our house and I know many of your little girls do too! So, I am trying out a new Olivia fabric from Andover. It is equally as adorable as the last but new and unique and bright colored for spring! It features Olivia images and some Olivia-esque phrases such as "Never understimate the importance of ENTHUSIASM!", and "Red is the very best color for absolutely, positively everything!" The red and yellow color palette on a cream background is perfect. I paired it with a red and cream stripe and finished it off with some red ribbons on the shoulders. Who wants one?

"It is fun to have fun..."

"...but you have to know how!" ~ The Cat in the Hat

This fabric is so FUN! It is made by Robert Kaufman fabrics and the whole line is bright, vivid, cheerful and FUN! I have played around and made two dresses, one for each of my girls and they have had SO many complements on them.

The first dress is a pinafore style dress in Cat in the Hat fabric.  I love the red, white and blue color scheme on this dress.  It is adorable with a criss-cross back and straps that button on the shoulders.  The great thing about this dress is that it is also REVERSIBLE making 2 dresses in one.  I like to put matching bloomers with it and maybe some sparkle shoes :)

The second is a pillowcase dress with characters from MANY Dr. Seuss books.  Horton, the Lorax, the Grinch, Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham are just a few!

Olivia Does Everything Well...

I love this fabric...and apparantly you all do too!  I have been feeling the love for Olivia out there.  Unfortunately, this fabric was printed in 2007 (yikes!) and I was fortunate to find a bolt of it in a local fabric store.  I bought everything that was left and made MANY Olivia dresses...and even a custom peasant top!  And now I am down to an amount for just ONE MORE dress...I am sad.  So, what other characters are your children into these days?  I would love to hunt sown some more fun fabric to please the kiddo in your life :)  Ideas please!

Customer Appreciation Photos

I have been meaning to post some of these for a while. I LOVE to see other children in creations that I have made. It makes me smile to see them and hear stories of how they love their clothes. It makes me so happy to watch my oldest daughter choose one of my dresses over her store bought clothes to wear to church on Sunday mornings. I know that may not last long and I am one proud mama :) If you have any pictures of your little ones in "WonderfullyMade" creations and don't mind sharing...please send them along!
